2019 has come to a close, and as we look forward to 2020, we can’t help but begin to anticipate the arrival of some of the new attractions making their way to the Orlando theme parks in the coming months. From SeaWorld’s newest coaster – IceBreaker – and Universal Orlando Resort’s newest attraction – The Bourne Stuntacular – as well as the addition of a new hotel – the Dockside Inn – arriving at Universal’s Endless Summer Resort, and finally Walt Disney World’s Mickey’s Runaway Railway coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there’s so much to anticipate this year. As always, Tim and Jenn will be there to bring you coverage of each attraction and hotels opening, but for now, we want to go over some of these new openings and fill you in on what you can expect this upcoming year.

Ice Breaker

There’s no better way to kickoff the start of the new year than with the opening of SeaWorld’s newest coaster – Ice Breaker – launching Spring of 2020. With 4 airtime-filled launches – including a reverse launch into a 93 foot tall pike at a 100-degree angle –  this coaster seems to be Seaworld Orlando’s statement to continue its positive trend into a heavy and healthy competition with its surrounding parks, and we couldn’t be more excited for its arrival. We can’t wait to experience this arctic thrill ride for ourselves in the coming weeks.

The Bourne Stuntacular

Universal Orlando Resort will be introducing its newest attraction to Universal Studios Florida in the Spring of 2020 with the arrival of ‘The Bourne Stuntacular.’ Replacing Terminator 2:3D, this attraction is slated to be an all-new live action stunt show that will “blur the lines between stage and cinema in a hybrid form of entertainment that has never been seen before.” From live performers to death-defying leaps and more, this new attraction is set to be a thrill for all that you won’t just see, but one that you will also feel.

Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Dockside Inn and Suites

This past summer, Universal Orlando Resort introduced us to the first half of its Endless Summer Resort – The Surfside Inn and Suites. From its stunning rooms and gorgeous theming, to its jaw-droppingly low rate, many have since praised Universal Orlando Resort for such an affordable, yet valuable addition to its Resort lineup. Yet, many have anxiously been awaiting the second addition to Endless Summer’s Resort, this being its Dockside Inn and Suites. The wait will finally come to a head on March 17th, 2020 as Universal Orlando Resort will officially open its second half of the resort for guests to enjoy. The Dockside Inn and Suites will feature a larger hotel with two towers, a wonderful lobby bar, two large hotel pools, and wonderful views of its surrounding attractions. For those looking to stay on the site of Universal Orlando Resort at an affordable rate, this is certainly the resort for all to consider in 2020.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway

On March 4th, 2020, Walt Disney World Resort will open its highly anticipated attraction – Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway – at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Replacing the fan-favorite ‘Great Movie Ride’ which had existed since the park’s opening on May 1st 1989 and up until August 13th, 2017, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will follow the darling duo to their picnic in their new sports car, as Engineer Goofy’s train following along. Of course, nothing goes to plan with Goofy at the helm, as you embark on a whirlwind adventure through a 2-and-a-half D experience unlike any other seen before. With twists, turns, and gags along the way, this family-friendly experience will be the first of its kind, as it will highlight Mickey and friends in a way not previously seen in attractions before. For those who enjoy the “plussing” that the Walt Disney Company is known for, this attraction is sure to be a must-do for its advancement in theme park technology.
