When you think of the best time of the year to visit a water park, your mind instantly jumps to the summer months. With most of the United States beginning to feel the effects of the Fall season in late September into October, it doesn’t make sense to consider visiting a water park once the temperature drops below a certain threshold. However, if you live in Central Florida, chances are you’re aware that the best time to visit Orlando’s water parks is not in the summer when most guests tend to vacation to the Sunshine State, but rather, in the Fall. For those of you outside of the state of Florida, you may be wondering why this is? Though some answers may be more obvious than most, Tim recently visited Typhoon Lagoon to give us the scoop on why the Fall season may just be the best time to visit Orlando’s water parks, and how you can capitalize on this unique time of the year, whether you’re a local, or a guest visiting on Holiday.

Weather

While this is a given for locals residing in the Central Florida area, those living outside of the state of Florida may not be aware that Orlando’s Fall season isn’t really what most consider to be “Fall” at all. By late September/early October, most states are enjoying the cool breeze and changing of leaves, but Florida is still its beautiful hot and swampy self. Additionally, rain is less abundant as we move out of Hurricane season and into the occasional passing of a front. The lack of rain, coupled with the hot and slightly humid temperatures, makes for the ideal conditions for visiting one of Orlando’s incredible water parks.

Crowd Levels

If you’re not one for visiting a theme park full of guests, then a trip to Orlando’s water parks during the Fall season is for you. Because most guests are patiently awaiting for the Holiday Season to arrive, the Orlando theme parks’ overall attendance dips slightly during the Fall season, meaning that locals and opportune/spontaneous visitors are able to capitalize on a more relaxed water park experience. From a less populated wave pool, to a more languorous lazy river experience and more, there’s plenty of perks to capitalize on and enjoy when visiting one of Orlando’s water parks.

Wait Times

Last but not least, (and possibly most importantly depending on the kind of water park experience you’re looking for during your visit) is the lack of higher wait times at Orlando’s water parks during the Fall season. Sure, it may be easy to conclude that because of a lack of crowds, wait times should also decline when compared to a typical park day, but Tim wanted to highlight the difference for those who visit water parks with thrills in mind. Whether you enjoy Typhoon Lagoon’s Keelhaul Falls, or Storm Slides, wait times are generally significantly reduced when compared to a typical summer day at one of Orlando’s water parks, therefore lending itse;f perfectly to all who enjoy the thrills and chills of a water slide.

Of course, every day varies in Orlando, and if you’re an avid user of social media, you’re bound to be aware of the countless memes that highlight Florida’s ever-unpredictable weather patterns. The truth is, most of those memes are accurate, and we ask that you keep in mind that not every day is perfect, and that crowd levels vary drastically in Orlando. With that said, if you’re looking to visit Orlando during its slower, yet warmer time of the year, thereby increasing your chances of having a more successful visit to Orlando’s water theme parks, consider visiting during the Fall season.
