EVERYTHING Revealed at the D23 2026 Disney Parks Panel

The most anticipated night of D23 2026 just happened — Horizons: A Carousel of Progress – D23 Disney Experiences Showcase, a.k.a. the Disney Parks Panel. There were so many surprises, huge announcements, exciting reveals, and one last thing that brought everyone in the Honda Center to their feet.

Hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and featuring some special appearances, here’s everything that was announced during last night’s panel.

The Imagineering Story 2 is Coming

Things kicked off with the announcement that a second season of documentarian Leslie Iwerks’ The Imagineering Story is in the works, and the first few episodes will debut on Disney+ next year. The new season is now in production and will explore “one of the most ambitious eras in Imagineering history.”

Two Recognizable Voices Joining Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom

Next up, Disney Legend Jamie Lee Curtis and Emmy winner Bryan Cranston were announced as the new voices of Mother and Father for the reimagining of Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom. A sneak peek at the updated 1980s scene was also shared. Also announced during the panel, the ride will reopen with the added Walt Disney scene in late spring 2027.

A first look at the new attraction poster was also revealed!

Entertainment Returning to Disneyland in 2027

A “refreshed” version of the “Remember… Dreams Come True” nighttime spectacular will return to Disneyland Park in February 2027. The show will feature projections on Sleeping Beauty Castle, and new projections at Rivers of America, the “it’s a small world” facade, and down Main Street, U.S.A.

“Remember… Dreams Come True” originally debuted during the 50th anniversary of Disneyland Resort, and features an introduction by Julie Andrews before celebrating wishes and dreams in iconic Disney stories.

In addition, an updated take on the original “World of Color” will also debut at Disney California Adventure in February 2027.

Finally, for summer 2027, the “Magic Happens” parade will once again march down Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland Park.

Space Mountain Going Back to the Moon at Disneyland Paris

Hyperspace Mountain at Disneyland Paris is set to close to make way for Space Mountain: De la Terre à la Lune. This reimagined experience will evoke the classic Jules Verne tale that originally inspired the 1995 attraction. Space Mountain will not only get its old name back, but also its original musical score.

We also got an update on Space Mountain: Earthrise, the reimagined version of the attraction coming to Tokyo Disneyland. On the ride, guests will “launch into the cosmos and experience the wonder of Earth from a perspective unlike anything seen before in a Disney attraction.”

Spaceship Earth Finally Getting a Reimagining

For the first time in almost 20 years (and after one previously announced reimagining that got canceled), Spaceship Earth is finally getting a refresh to “expand its story from human communication to the broader theme of human connection.”

They’re FIXING the Yeti at Expedition Everest!

Believe it or not, the unexpected is finally happening: the yeti is being “brought back to life” at Expedition Everest! The moment was marked with an appearance by Gloria Gaynor as she sang her 1978 disco classic, “I Will Survive.”

No further details were shared on how the yeti will be revitalized, but it has been many years since the animatronic moved and swiped at riders in all its glory. Needless to say, we’re excited!

New Avengers Pavilion Coming to Hong Kong Disneyland

New, exciting updates are coming to Stark Expo at Hong Kong Disneyland. An all-new Avengers Pavilion will bring guests to Avengers Research Testing Labs alongside Peter Parker, add a new Quinjet landing platform, and more. Construction is already underway!

A New Look at the Spider-Man Coaster Coming to Shanghai Disneyland

The first-ever Disney Parks land themed entirely to Spider-Man is coming to Shanghai Disneyland with a new coaster, Spider-Bots, and the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (W.E.B. to those already familiar).

In the new land, Peter and his friends have created a new collection of Spider-Bots to help assemble their experiments and, yes, build the new coaster (the final piece of track was just installed!). We’re sure it will all go well, and nothing will go wrong!

Disney Imagineers will also be collaborating with local artists in Hong Kong to create over 20 murals to decorate the new land that celebrate Spider-Man, science, and the Avengers.

An Opening Year, New Concept Art and More Details for Two New Rides in Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure

We got brand-new details, concept art, and an opening year for Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab, coming to Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure.

Starting off with Avengers Infinity Defense, new concept art shows that guests will be welcomed with a pre-mission briefing from Ms. Marvel, with Iman Vellani reprising her role. The mission is clear: reassemble the Avengers to battle King Thanos.

Other returning heroes reprising their roles in the attraction include Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man.

Riders will be surrounded by physical sets blended with screens as they travel across the many worlds of Marvel, like Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City.

As for Stark Flight Lab, more heroes will make appearances: Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Mackie as Captain America, and Brie Larson as Captain Marvel. We also got new concept art!

Both of these attractions will open in 2028.

Tons of Updates for Indiana Jones at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

We learned so much about the upcoming Indiana Jones ride taking over the footprint of DINOSAUR at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. For starters, it got a name: Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent. This all-new story will set Indy out on an expedition into an ancient Mayan temple where the aforementioned mythical creatures and supernatural perils await.

In addition, Disney Legend Harrison Ford appeared via video message to share that he is the actual model for the new Indiana Jones animatronic that will be featured in the attraction. This will be the first time he will be the true face of Indy you see on a Disney attraction. A look at the digital model being used to build the animatronic was shown during the presentation.

Details were also shared about the ride’s storyline (per Disney Parks Blog):

“You’ll rendezvous with Dr. Jones, who is in the midst of exploring this mysterious temple near a once water-filled underground cave, called a cenote. Local legend says the passageway leads directly to the Maya Underworld and is protected by a serpentine creature: the Tsukán […] The adventure takes off when riders are unwittingly sucked through a portal to the Underworld, where they’ll have to escape perilous dangers, like monstrous bats, larger-than-life scorpions, fire and flame, and, of course, snakes […] You’ll encounter the Tsukán throughout the attraction, including a final confrontation.”

Take a ride on El Carrusel de los Animalitos

Next up, we got new details and concept art for El Carrusel de los Animalitos, the Disney animal-themed carousel coming to Tropical Americas. The attraction will feature 22 hand-carved animal figures from Disney and Pixar stories for you to ride, including Pua, Heimlich, Simba, Timon, Kaa, Kuzco in his llama form, and more.

New Concept Art, a Name, and More for the Encanto Ride at Animal Kingdom!

La familia Madrigal is inviting us all into the casita at Disney’s Animal Kingdom with their brand-new ride, now named Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto. Guests will enter the Casita on Antonio’s special gift day (he can communicate with animals!) and get the chance to see new rooms of the house created specifically for the attraction.

Voice actors from the film will return to reprise their roles, including Stephanie Beatriz as Mirabel, Diane Guerrero as Isabella, and Jessica Darrow as Luisa. In addition, there will be no height requirement to ride, so everyone in your party can enjoy the fiesta.

When you enter the Casita, you’ll board a ride vehicle that represents the different pieces of furniture assembled by the house to guide you through its rooms. Eventually, you’ll make your way upstairs to Antonio’s room, which has been transformed into a rainforest featuring over 50 animal figures and animatronics.

A New Look at the Coco Boat Ride Coming to Disney California Adventure

We got new concept art for the first-ever Coco ride coming to Disney California Adventure, which will feature an original storyline set a year after the events of the first film. The queue will include a “casa museo” dedicated to the music of Héctor Rivera, Miguel’s great-great-grandfather, and guests will travel by boat through Miguel’s memories of the Land of the Dead.

Like the Encanto attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Coco boat ride will also not have a height requirement! Construction on the ride is now in progress in the area near Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier.

Be Prepared for The Lion King at Disney Adventure World!

Next up was an updated look at new concept art for the first-ever attraction themed to The Lion King, set to open at Disney Adventure World in Disneyland Paris. On this log flume attraction, you’ll travel through the Pride Lands alongside Simba as he grows from cub to king of the savanna.

The new concept art revealed during the panel features Simba’s intense battle with Scar from the climax of the film. The ride will be a full retelling of the story of the film, and will include a new flume system with a 52-foot-drop.

New Logo Revealed and First Look at Animatronics for Wreck-It Ralph Ride at Tokyo Disneyland

Get ready to step into the digital world of Wreck-It Ralph at Tokyo Disneyland with the new attraction, Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue. Scheduled to open in 2027, we got a look at the official logo treatment for the ride, as well as our first look at Ralph as an Audio-Animatronic.

On the ride, guests will enter the game of Sugar Rush with Ralph and Vanellope as they “transform rogue sugar bugs back to their original forms” as they take on King Candy.

Hop In Cars fans, We’re Going to Piston Peak!

Next up in the panel, we got a handful of updates about the new Cars-themed land coming to Magic Kingdom, Piston Peak.

More never-before-seen concept art was shared for the land’s E-ticket, as well as a name: Cars Ridge Run Rally! This attraction will have racers making their way through vistas inspired by national parks as they speed their way to the checkered flag. 

Cars Ridge Run Rally will feature a completely new ride vehicle designed to be an off-road car rather than just simulate one. Guests will “feel every bump, drop, and rock because this vehicle’s tires and suspension are truly driving over and reacting to them.”

We also got news about the second attraction planned for this new land, now known as Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along. Featuring the “Diva of Demolition” from Cars 3, this competition will see riders and their cars spinning around the demolition derby as the “school-bus-sized animatronic” hosts the show.

Disney Cruise Line Time

The next section of the presentation was all about Disney Cruise Line, kicking things off with updates about the Disney Believe, the fourth Wish-class ship. Fans in the Honda Center were treated to a first look at the interior and exterior of the ship; Moana will be the Grand Hall statue and inspire the design look for the space. Hand-painted filigree of Tinker Bell will be on the bow, and the ship’s stern will feature figures of Buzz and Woody. The new ship will set sail in late 2027.

The new class of ships set to join the Disney fleet will arrive in 2029, and will be between the classic and newest ships as far as size. This will bring Disney’s total in the fleet to 13 over the next few years. No further details were shared, but we can’t wait to see what’s next for this new class of ships!

Monstropolis, Here We Come!

Up next, we talked about Monstropolis and saw new concept art for multiple experiences coming to the land — including a new theater show set in the Glob Theater featuring Mike and Sulley. Titled “Welcome to Monstropolis,” the show will feature the first song that Disney Legend Randy Newman has ever composed for a Disney Park.

We also learned about a new food venue, Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza, where guests can grab a slice and see Archie, Fear Tech’s six-legged mascot. And over at Harryhausen’s, we got a look at the animatronic sushi chef that will be whipping up his creations as you dine.

For those looking for Monstropolis souvenirs, the Scareporium will be the one-stop shop to find something to commemorate your visit.

The land will also include the previously announced Monsters, Inc. Door Coaster, which is a launch coaster that includes a lift at the load area, which will raise riders up 40 feet in the air in four seconds. As work continues on the door coaster, parts of the land will open to guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2027.

Are You Ready for Villains Land?

One of the most highly anticipated additions to Walt Disney World finally got the spotlight during the Disney Parks panel. We got to see new concept art for two attractions, learned the backstory of how Villains Land came to be, and what guests can expect when this dark forest grows in Magic Kingdom.

First off, the land will be officially named “Villains Land,” fitting in with the other lands with “land” in their name at Magic Kingdom. In the story for the land, once upon a time, someone made an evil wish at a Wishing Well that was so evil it corrupted the stone and broke open its structure, spreading dark magic throughout the forest. The villains, one by one, arrived to try and claim the last of the Wishing Well’s power.

The land will be on the size and scale of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, with plenty to explore and discover.

We got a new look at the Maleficent coaster, which will send riders through the enchanted thorns that surround her fortress and feature elements Imagineering “has never attempted” on similar attractions.

The land’s second attraction will be a dark ride hosted by the Magic Mirror, located in the catacombs beneath the Evil Queen’s castle. Upon finding the Magic Mirror, he will transport you into the Mirror Realm, where you’ll encounter Disney Villains and their worlds through special effects and physical set pieces.

There’s a Great, Big, Beautiful (New) Tomorrow(land) at Disneyland

During the panel, we learned that Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park is set to be redesigned to “honor the legacy of the original land while reimagining its future with new attractions, more open spaces, and new places for you to dream about the future.”

One More Spark…

There was one more thing to announce before the panel ended for the evening. In a shocking surprise, it was announced that Journey Into Imagination with Figment at EPCOT is finally getting the reimagining it deserves, with the Dreamfinder returning to the attraction.

No other details were shared, but this announcement closed out the presentation with a bang! We can’t wait to see the Dreamfinder return for a new journey into imagination with Figment.
